Healthy Red    Mondays comes just too fast.Imagine we're already into the second month of the year. In just a month, the other Presidential Election candidate, who lost the second round of election that took place in Nov, was 'sworn' in as the 'People's President'. In their battle to win the powerful chair, the country is still battling with basic needs. High Food Prices, clean drinking water, better roads, proper sanitation, a cleaner environment to name a few issue needs urgent attention. So many issues to tackle. Mombasa has trash dumped all on roadsides and the hills are going taller by the day. I wish the politicians would for once with dedication just get on with what their tasks are instead of wasting time and useful resources in battling for the cogent position. The people of this country can but wait patiently to see how the rest of the year will pan out. The other event, a blue moon, lunar eclipse, a red moon... we missed it. Kept on staring out of the...

MEGA BLOGGING MARATHON -SEPT 2017 #80TH BLOGGING MARATHON THEME: PROTEIN RICH DISHES DAY:2    When we were growing up, my dad would insist that we must have a glass milk and a banana before we left for school. I think this continued till I went to a boarding school. Usually we would not want to eat anything in the morning but my mum would be like a strict General in the Army, with her hands on her hips and would not budge till we drank the milk and ate the banana. My sister would hide the glass of milk in the netted cupboard when she would notice that my mum's attention is on my brother or me. Remember in the olden days when a simple wood cupboard with a few shelves and a wire mesh door was where leftover food was kept? Going to a boarding school meant we had to eat what was given and we could not leave the dining room till we finished our food. Back then the bread was really sour, we'd get our share of fruit and hot milk. Why couldn't they give is cold milk?    ...

Back Home    Traveling back home is always heart breaking for me. Our trips abroad are usually to visit family. Its always a joyous time when we travel to them but heart breaking when we have to get back. This year we spent nearly 2 months in Montreal and I so didn't want to come back. I miss my son(shhh hope the other 2 kids are not actually reading the post!). I miss him more so because he's still single and not really ready to mingle so forget about having a soul mate, best mate etc etc. We don't have any relatives or family friends in Montreal. The couple we had have moved to other cities. He has his friends, but not really close ones. He keeps on insisting that he is an adult and absolutely fine but hubby and I worry like typical Indian parents. While he insists he is fine, we insist that we have every right to worry!    Leaving him and his cat Pumkin (yes, I'm finally friendly with her), the beautiful city of numerous parks, where pedestrians are respected and ...
